Principal's Message |
Dear Parents,
Season's Greetings! 2009 has been an eventful year for Temasek Primary and not in the usual sense of the word. The school bade farewell to Ms Low Yoke Kiew who have 7 years of dedicated service as Principal of the school from Jan 2003 to Dec 2009. When Ms Low left, there must have been a growing heaviness which precedes any separation. Undoubtedly, Ms Low was well-loved and held in high esteem by the school community.
If it is difficult to take over the administration of a school under normal circumstances, it is more so in the case of an establishment like Temasek Primary with its history dating back to 1979. The foundation on which the school is built has stood the test of time. The hordes of dedicated teachers who kept their ideals high and the thousands of students whose lives were touched by the Temasek spirit are not a prerogative of the past. I am quite sure this same spirit of excellence and the vision of 'Every Life Enriched' live on among the staff and pupils of this Temasek Primary family. I pay tribute to the many who have gone before me and to the many who still work in the school.
I am grateful to be given this opportunity to lead Temasek Primary and to serve in the true spirit of servant leadership in my present capacity as the 6th Principal of the school. While I tap on my 12 years of experience as a Principal for guidance, I look to my staff for support and encouragement to my pupils for the gift of love and to you, the parents, for continued support, good wishes and co-operation. I am confident that Temasek Primary will strive unrelentingly to maintain its tradition of being a fine school and possibly to surge to even greater heights as the Learning Campus of the East that has moved from Success to Significance and moving from Significance to IMPACT!
2010 promises to be as eventful as new initiatives, both school-based as well as those supported by the Ministry of Education, add new perspectives to education. With the recommendations from the PERI (Primary Education Review and Implementation) Report, Temasek Primary is poised to respond to these challenges without compromising on the legacy of excellence left behind by the many leaders of the school. This is also the year that the school is prepared to celebrate its 30th Anniversary - an apt occasion indeed to embrace past successes, to live the present and to celebrate the future!
The bi-annual publication, 'Making Connections', the 'Homelink' letters to parents and the school's website, continue to be the communication tools from the school so that you will be kept informed of the happenings, the achievements and the concerns of the school.
In the spirit of our school motto; 'Forward Together', I welcome suggestions and contributions from you should you think there are any areas which the school need looking into and which will benefit the pupils, as we work together to make impactful and purposeful changes that matter!

Conduct of Temperature Taking Exercise |
As part of measures to maintain schools' preparedness to resume temperature taking regime, as well as to ensure that all new pupils are familiar with temperature-taking, there will be a temperature-taking exercise conducted on Thursday, 7 January 2010 by the school.
As part of the school's preparation for the exercise, we will be conducting a pre-exercise check on Oral Digital Thermometers (ODTs) on Wednesday, 6 January 2010. We would like to seek your assistance in ensuring that your child brings his/her personal ODT on the two days mentioned.
Thank you for your support and co-operation. Together, we can conduct a successful temperature-taking exercise as part of our continuing efforts to provide a healthy and safe environment for all in our school.
